Conversations With God: When You Stand on the Edge of Your Knowing

What do we do when we doubt our strength? When we feel stuck, heavy with uncertainty, and unsure if we can take another step, standing at the very edge of what we think we know.

It is in the quiet moments of your surrender to the rest

you've been avoiding,

you begin to hear God speak.

To feel His breath flow through your lungs.

as He whispers sparks of oxygen

into your suffocating fire

when the flame begins to fade

beneath the weight pressing on your heart.

In those shaky moments

as you stand before God and say

"Father.. I don't know if I can."

There is silence.
Doubt creeps in,
and then He meets you there
not when you expected,
but when you needed Him most..

He sits down next to you and ever so gently says:

"And that.. you never will know.

As you will only ever know

what you have already walked through

and this, you have yet to.

This is the face of a stranger

whose name is only revealed to those who seek it.

But what you seek is safety in certainty

and I must tell you,

there is no certainty here.

So you must choose now.

To live in this certainty

of what you know

or follow Me past its walls.

For the only thing you will ever know for certain

is that the outcome will remain the same.

Therefore knowing the name of this stranger

does not grant you the power to change it.

What is to be, will always be,

despite what you know.

Where you must look now

is at your belief that your ability

is measured by what you think you can do,

when it is measured by all that you do,

despite what you think.

Your thoughts are limited

to the confinements of your mind,

therefore you must listen to your soul

when it requests your presence.

As it is only then,

you will remember all that you are

beyond the perceptions of what you think you know...

and when you remember,

that is when you come home."
